California Vacation - part II "the job search"

while two of us were planning on a vacation, Brian thought this would be a great opportunity to find a job as a Personal Trainer and move back to California. He was determined to stay there and not come back to Michigan. The first gym he went to interviewed him right away and even hired him on the spot! They even went so far as to show him around and introduce him to the other PT's as the new PT. They had him fill out an application and all that needed to be done was to wait until they verified his certifications which should take about 2 to 3 days. However, Brian still went ahead and dropped off his resume at five more gyms and interviewed with another one. Not only that, but while he was traveling from one gym to another, he got a call from Bally's from - are you ready for this - MICHIGAN!!!! He submitted an application to them almost a year ago and now they call him for an interview, after he got a job offer from LA Fitness in California! How ironic is that!

In the meantime, he was making his plans to stay in California. He even went so far as to start looking for an apartment which he did find but didn't want to commit to until the paperwork from LA Fitness went through. So begins the waiting game. By Tuesday he still hadn't heard anything and it was the day before our flight home. He talked to the guy from LA Fitness and he assured Brian that he has the job but they can't do anything until the corporate office gives them the okay. So now what do we do? Does he stay and wait or does he come home? After, discussing all the different scenarios, he decided to come home. If and when the job offer becomes official, he can hop back on a plane and fly out. When we landed in Denver, for our layover, Brian checked his messages and sure enough there was a message from LA Fitness. The paperwork had gone through and he can start right away! He called the guy back, accepted the job and told him that as soon as he gets home he would check flights and call him back. So now he will fly back to California on Sunday, the 16th, do all the paperwork on Monday and start his new job on Tuesday.

As for the apartment, he's still waiting to hear from the guy to see if it's still available. In the meantime, he's checking for other apartments in case the first one falls through.
