getting ready

for vacation which we finally finalized. we leave on Saturday and we're renting a condo for five nights in Manistee, Michigan near Lake Michigan. the condo is on a small lake but walking distance to Lake Michigan. then we'll drive down to Holland, Michigan and spend two nights there.

my work schedule has been really light this week. I'm only working one day this week! what's up with that. I may be looking for a new job if this keeps up. anyway, I took this opportunity to do some projects that I've been putting off - like weeding. ugh, with all this rain we've been getting, the weeds have been out of control but our grass and flowers have never looked better in July!

I've also been going through my old photos and organizing them. I want to scan and make copies of them. this is something I've been working on for years but with no organization. I had sticky notes sticking out of old albums of pictures I want to scan. I had old photos in 4-up photo albums waiting to be scanned along with photos that were already scanned and copied with notes all over the place. ugh, what a mess. I pulled out my album of photos scrapped, the boys albums of photos scrapped, the 4-up album, and my box of photos that weren't scrapped. I went through every photo year by year and pulled any photos that I want copied even pulling photos out of the albums. I know, crazy, but that was the only way I could think of keeping it all together and un-du and I have become best friends this week. I made notes on the back of the photo so I knew which album it belonged in when done scanning. It's taken me the better part of the week, but I'm almost done organizing. I'm now in 1997 and I'll be stopping when I get to 2005, when I became digital. I must say that it's been so much fun going down memory lane and one thing I learned. my boys were not very cute in their preteen years. of course, all the funny faces didn't help.
