one was from Bill's cousin who we hardly see and quite frankly didn't know they had a daughter old enough to graduate from high school. one was from an acquaintance that we use to see twice a year because they were friends of friends who decided to get all of their good friends together for two yearly events - camping and a christmas party which we have been doing for over ten years. even though we have seen these people twice a year every year for those 10+ years, we would probably never see them again if our good friends no longer organized these events. the third invitation was from the forementioned good friends who live in a very small town about a half an hour away from Dayton, Ohio.
I totally lost track of how old the son of our good friends were and the invite caught me off guard. Since we hadn't seen them in over a year, we did decide to go to their son's grad party which was this past weekend. we had a good time, but seriously, I have absolutely nothing in common with these women. nothing, nada, zip! I can have a conversation with the guys much more easily than these women. I think what irks me the most, is that the women don't seem interested in what I have to say. oh they ask the important questions every time I see them, but they don't seem really interested in the answer. when they found out that I work at Archiver's (which I had to explain to them that it was a scrapbook store), I could see the smirk that they were trying to hide. they're not scrapbookers and I get the impression from them that they think it's stupid and a waste of time and what they do is much more important. which is why I had no problem with the camping trips being canceled. aside from the fact that I'm really not into camping and would much rather have gotten a hotel room nearby and pretended that I was camping.

We didn't make it to this past Christmas party because I had to work and Bill didn't want to go by himself. our good friends come into town and get a hotel for a couple of nights and invite us all to their hotel for the party. Steven and Brian loved going when they were little and got along great with our friend's sons but as Steven and Brian got older they weren't enjoying themselves anymore and quite going. it irritates Bill to no end that they always choose the west side of Detroit (we live on the east side) which is an hour drive for us and it seems like every year it's farther and farther west. it doesn't matter that the majority of the people live in that area and it makes for a shorter drive for our friends, it still irritates him. anyway, I was really looking forward to going to this grad party and seeing everyone again. it didn't take long for me to remember why we only see these people twice a year (less now) and never come in contact with them (except for our good friends) any other time of the year.

oh, and as for the other two grad parties, they're both on the same day and we still don't know which one we are going to go to. we can't go to both since they're at opposite sides of the city. we're leaning towards going to the cousin's and I still don't need any graduation scrapping stuff ;op

Don't go to either tell them both that you have another to go to. LOL!!!!!
I agree with Laura :)
That sucks about the stupid women though. No one's job or pasttime is any more stupid than anyone else's ;)
They should grow some manners.
How RUDE!
