we made an offer

on this house. It's a cute little house on Wixom Lake near Gladwin. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a walkout basement with a family room.
We saw this view just as we were leaving. that was the clincher. beautiful.
However, our offer didn't get accepted. their counter wasn't even close to what we were willing to pay. so we walked away. it turns out that the owners are behind on their payments and are close to foreclosure so they need a certain amount to break even. we decided to wait until spring and see if the price comes down when the bank takes over the house and give it another try.

Having said that, we do have a second choice that we're considering putting an offer on. This house is on George Lake near Rose City. it's a farther drive north for us but the plus is that it's really close to my sister's place.

we decided to wait until after the holidays and see if this house is still on the market and then consider putting in an offer. we do know that the current owner lost his job and wants to sell before he has to.


it was really hard to make a decision between the two homes. they both had everything we wanted but they each had one thing better than the other. we loved the property of house #1 and the walkout basement and the lake is huge. perfect for exploring. house #2 is gorgeous. they did an awesome job decorating. we could move in and not have to do a single thing to the inside. now if I could just convince them to leave all the furniture it would be perfect. ;=)
