Nothing like waiting until the last minute

to take our vacation. because of some changes at the company he works at, Bill is forced to take most of his vacation days this year - six weeks plus any days that he'll be earning during the year. he is no longer allowed to carry over that many days. so all year we knew in the back of our minds that we had to plan something to use up those days. He had already planned to take almost every Friday off and the usual days off for Thanksgiving and Christmas but we still needed to take a vacation. Besides it'll be our 30th wedding anniversary in November so we really wanted to go somewhere. our first plan was to go to Germany (which by the way is where we would be right now if we had gone) but by summer the Euro was rising again and Bill decided to cancel those plans. then, we thought we would go to California (which by the way is where we would be right now if we had gone) but we dragged our feet on those plans until our only option was to go in December. With Steven coming home for Christmas, we decided that might not be a good idea. Finally we decided to go to Orlando in December. We're leaving on the 15th and Steven is going to fly out and meet us there and then fly home with us just before Christmas and stay until after New Year. I can't wait! It's been a long time since we had a real family vacation with the four of us.
