2009

we rang in the New Year our traditional way. we started the evening out by going to the movies. we saw "Bedtime Stories". it was cute, quite enjoyable. after the show, we met Irene and Gerald at our usual restaurant of choice on New Year's Eve, Ristorante Di Fratelli's. this is a great place for New Year's Eve when everything else is so crowded with a 2 hour wait for a table. It's small and quiet and off the beaten path. after dinner, we went to Irene and Gerald's and played Euchre. Linda and Tony came over a little later and then we played Uno.

On New Year's Day, I took down the christmas decorations and then we went to my parents for dinner. Mom made her traditional New Years Day dinner of Chicken Noodle Soup and sausages. It started way back when we all went to the Carpathia Club for the New Year's Eve party and stayed up until 3 or 4 am and slept until noon. by evening all we could handle was soup ;0P. even though we don't party like we use to, some traditions are hard to give up.

New Year's resolutions? nope. none. I don't make them because by the end of the first week, they're broken. I just try to keep doing what I'm always trying to do - simplify my life! I do have some scrapping goals I'd really like to work on. mostly just scrap! If there's one thing I learned from Cathy Z's Design Your Life class, is not to stress over a layout - keep it simple. speaking of which, one of my goals is to finish the assignments from that class. I need to start my nephew's high school album and get it done before he graduates in June. I also bought a 7 gypsies photo carousel that I'm determined to make. and I can't forgot about all the cool acrylic albums I bought. I really want to use those. I'm also attempting the 365 picture project. I've pretty much given myself a pass on that if I find that I lose interest in it. I'm planning on doing the 12 on the 12th this year so I'm not sure I want to do both. how cool would it be to have an album with just those 12 on the 12th layouts!

The boys go back to LA on Monday. other than working tonight, I'll be spending as much time as possible with them between now and then. love having them home and as much as I miss them when they're not here, it'll be nice to go back to our routine next week.
