since my sister and I didn't know what to get my dad for his 80th birthday (which is no surprise because we never ever know what to get him for his birthday or christmas for that matter) we decided to take him and my mom to the casino. which is really no big deal for them because they go often (they usually take the bus that goes daily from the Kmart parking lot near their house to the Windsor Casino for $7 and then you get a $15 voucher to use for gambling or lunch) but as I told my sister, the only thing they really want from us is "time with us", the gift of me so to speak ;oP. anyway, yesterday was finally the day we went and I just have to say my sister and I were the youngest people on the bus! The first thing we did when we got there was eat. they have a lunch buffet that was excellent! every type of food you could imagine. we were able to eat for free with all the points my parents had accumulated on their casino reward card. then on to the slot machines. all I can say is that it doesn't take long to go through $45 which is what I set my limit at. once that money was gone, I was done and I stuck to it!
In other news:
A couple of days ago I get a phone call from Brian. "hey, guess where I am right now?" he says. of course, I have no idea since he's in California it could be anywere. so he tells me that he's on the set of "Rules of Engagement" (the TV show with David Spade) in an effort to make some extra money, he had signed up with an agency that provides extras for TV shows. I finally got a chance to talk to him last night to see how it went. he loved it! In one of the restaurant scenes, he's sitting in the booth right behind David Spade pretending to read a paper. he's also in another scene in the same restaurant where he's standing by the bar. he said that it took all day but they were given a lunch buffet which was awesome. he doesn't know when it will air but I'll be recording all the episodes just in case. I'm assuming the show will be back in January.
