vacation time and no place to go
so Bill and I finally decided when to take our vacation. Since the boys are coming home in August, at separate times, Steven at the beginning of the month and Brian at the end of the month, we pretty much ruled out August for vacation. so we settled on mid July. we both got our vacations approved from work and now we don't know where to go. because of gas prices and the american dollar value in Canada, we decided not to go to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and do the circle tour of Lake Superior and to save some money we don't want to drive far or do something elaborate. I love the Michigan coast of Lake Michigan so we looked into renting a beach house. couldn't find anything within our price range (translation - cheap). so right now we're thinking of maybe doing a partial drive along the coast of Lake Michigan. while doing some research on the internet, I started looking at all the information on lighthouses. I've always loved lighthouses and have been fascinated by them. how cool would it be to see all of the lighthouses in Michigan. all 116 of them! just during the portion of the drive that we are planning to do (about 200 miles) we would see 12 lighthouses! Hmmm, I see a scrapbook album in the future ;=)

I can picture the album now...it should have a battery operated lightbulb that recreated the lighthouse...
ok maybe not :)
Awww, man. I hate that gas prices are dictating your summer plans. But, seeing the lighthouses would be neat! Can't wait to see the sb pages about 'em!
that would be a fun trip.
you could mix in some wineries too. ;o)
